For the second half of our trip, we ventured over to the complete opposite side of the island for a stay at the Park Hyatt – St. Kitts Christophe Harbour.  The Christophe Harbour development is moving along slowly, so this side of the island can seem a little desolate.  However, the marina is up and running – keep your eye out for a Mega Yacht or two!

Pulling up to the Park Hyatt, you are greeted by a beautiful open air walkway to the lobby. We were offered a glass of champagne (My perfect way to start a stay) and the check-in process was a breeze. From there, you are whisked away on a quick tour of the resort.

We were upgraded to a beautiful Beachside King room for our four night stay.  I loved the open concept – large bathroom with double vanity, rain shower and soaking tub. We enjoyed relaxing and having our coffee on the terrace with unparalleled views each morning – our own little piece of tranquil paradise.

The staff members were always so friendly – very helpful, but not overly pushy, which we really appreciated!  The poolside/beach service was wonderful – they brought around smoothie samples in the afternoon, which were so yummy and refreshing!!

Now let’s talk amenities.  There are two pools on property, one of which is adults only.  The other larger pool is perfect for families and kids!  We spent most of our time by the adult pool – the views were gorgeous and we loved being on the beach.  We went at the end of November – so we were able to snag a couple chairs and were surrounded by no one….it was so relaxing to sit there and enjoy a book, glass of champagne and take in the view of Nevis.

During our stay we took advantage of the gym twice.  It was a good size and the equipment was very nice and new.  One thing I loved the most were all the windows, which allowed a lot of natural light in – so you don’t feel “stuck” inside.  If you are in the mood for a smoothie or light healthy snack after your workout, be sure to check out the little bar next door in the spa.  If you are looking for outdoor activities, there is a stand right outside the lobby where you can sign up for a bike tour.  The beach also has paddle boards, kayaks and jet skis to take advantage of as well!  Brandon took a kayak for a spin and had a great time!

There are three restaurants on property.  The Great House, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Fisherman’s Village – which serves lunch and dinner and lastly, The Stone Barn, which is an adults only restaurant serving dinner.   Something to note – even if you go when the hotel is not in it’s busy season, make reservations for every meal.  We didn’t think we needed to but they really stressed that the first night at dinner and were taken aback that we didn’t call ahead.

We ate at the Great House for dinner twice and also for breakfast.  I HIGHLY recommend the breakfast buffet.  The food was incredible and the variety of items to choose from was great!  Their menu does vary but for dinner, I ordered the pan seared snapper – the King Prawn and Crab Tortellini is not to be missed!!  It was so delicious I ended up getting it both times we ate there.

We also had dinner at Fisherman’s Village.  We ended up sitting at the bar since we didn’t make reservations and it was completely full.  I feel like the experience may have been a little better if we had been sitting at a table – the bartenders were quite chatty and a little loud making drinks/cleaning up and talking with each other.  Other than that, we really enjoyed the views of Nevis at night and the tropical breeze from the water.

Honestly, there were only a couple little downsides during our stay.  One was having to call for ice every time you needed it – we always prefer to get it ourselves since we tend to go through it fairly quickly and not have to sit and wait for someone to bring it.  It was usually brought in an ice bucket and obviously being in the islands, it doesn’t keep for long. The staff always did their best to be accomodating though!  The second is more of a personal preference, but I feel it is worth mentioning.  My husband and I are not big foodies and sometimes we really just want a quick option for lunch and dinner.  If you are the same way, there is really isn’t an option for quick grab and go meals.  The restaurants are very good and definitely on par with what you would expect from a Park Hyatt – we are just the type to appreciate a good chicken sandwich and fries mixed in with our fancier meals 😉

The Park Hyatt St. Kitts had been on our radar for the past couple of years – it was such a treat to finally get to visit!  We have never been disappointed with any Park Hyatt we’ve stayed at and this one was no exception.  Be sure to add it to your radar if you are considering St. Kitts!!
